If you’re someone who receives a lot of emails on a daily basis, it’s important to regularly clear out your inbox to keep things organized. However, manually deleting emails can be a tedious task, especially if you have a lot of them to go through. Fortunately, Outlook has a feature that allows you to bulk delete emails quickly and easily.
To get started, open your Outlook web client and navigate to the “Settings” menu by clicking on the gear icon. From there, select “View all Outlook settings,” then go to the “General” category and choose “Storage.” This will show you how much space is being taken up by each folder, as well as your total account space.
Next, choose the folder you want to delete emails from. In this example, we’ll be using the “Sent Items” folder. Click on the folder and select the option to delete emails that are older than a certain date. You can choose from three options: three months and older, six months and older, or 12 months and older.
In this case, we wanted to delete emails older than six months. Since the oldest email in our “Sent Items” folder was from November 2021, we selected the option to delete emails that are six months and older. Outlook will ask you to confirm that you want to permanently delete all the emails that meet your criteria. Click “OK” to proceed.
Outlook will then begin deleting the emails that meet your criteria. Depending on how many emails there are, this may take a few minutes. Once the process is complete, you may need to refresh the page to see the updated results.
By following these steps, you can easily delete old emails from Outlook without having to manually go through each one. This can save you a lot of time and help keep your inbox organized.
