Are you looking to scan a document to your computer on your Windows device? It’s actually a pretty straightforward process that we will walk you through in this tutorial.
Most printers come with software that includes scanning functionality. You can find this software on the installation media that comes with the printer or you can download it from the printer’s website. However, if you want to use something that’s built into Windows, you can use the Windows Fax and Scan feature.
To access Windows Fax and Scan, simply select the magnifying glass and type in “Windows Fax and Scan”. Select the “best match” and it will take you to the Windows Fax and Scan tool. From there, select the “New Scan” button at the top of the screen.
Make sure your scanner is turned on and connected to your computer. If you have a modern or even an older printer or scanner, it should have good compatibility with Windows 11.
While you might have more functionality with printer-specific utilities, this is a pretty good general scanning utility. You can also fax documents through this tool.
