Have you ever needed to record your screen on a Microsoft Surface laptop? Maybe you need to show someone how to do something, or you simply want to capture a moment for posterity. Well, good news! You don’t need any external applications to record your screen.
First, go to your settings and select “gaming.” Enable the Xbox Game Bar by switching the toggle to the blue color. This will provide you with a shortcut to record your screen. To start or stop recording, simply press the Windows key + Alt + R.
It’s important to note that you cannot record your desktop – you must be in an application, a folder, a browser, or a game. When you’re ready to record, press Windows key + Alt + G. The Xbox Game Bar will appear, and you can start recording by tapping. You can move the capture status bar with your mouse by clicking and holding it, then placing it where you want. When you’re ready to stop recording, simply click outside of the capture status bar.
Your recording will automatically be saved to “VideosCaptures.” If you need to record your desktop, you’ll need to use an external application. There are many available online that you can find with a quick search.
And that’s it! You now know how to screen record on your Microsoft Surface laptop without any external applications. Happy recording!
