How to Fix TV Sound Delay: Two Methods to Try

Have you ever experienced out of sync audio after connecting your soundbar to your TV? It can be frustrating when the lips on the screen move sooner than the audio coming out. The reason behind this delay is that the TV tries to decode the sound format, such as Dolby, Digital, or DTS. By the time it finishes decoding, the video is still playing, resulting in a few milliseconds delay in the audio.

In this post, we will show you two methods to fix TV sound delay. It doesn’t matter what brand TV or soundbar you have, these methods can work for you.

Method 1: Changing TV Settings

The first method is to change a setting on your TV. Here are the steps:

1. Press the Home button on your control and go to the settings.

2. Go to the sound settings, then come down until you find a place called Digital Audio Output.

3. Select this and make sure PCM is selected. If Auto is selected, change it to PCM and then select it.

4. Go back and double-check that your audio and video are in sync.

Method 2: Changing Soundbar Settings

The second method is to change a setting on your soundbar. Here are the steps:

1. Make sure your cable is connected to TV Arc on both your Soundbar and your TV and on your remote control.

2. Select the source, source is selected as TV Arc.

3. To fix the delay, touch on your controller a place called Sound Control.

4. Select Audio Sync and adjust the delay. Zero means zero milliseconds delay between the audio and the video. You can increase or decrease the delay by pressing the buttons.

In both methods, keep changing the delay until your audio and your videos are synced. Please write in the comments below which of the two methods worked for you and what brands you have for your TV and soundbar.

By following these methods, you can fix TV sound delay and enjoy your favorite shows without any frustration.
