How to Pair TP-Link Wireless Powerline Adapters

If you’re struggling to get a strong Wi-Fi signal throughout your home, TP-Link’s wireless powerline adapters could be the solution you need. These devices create a powerline network that allows you to use your home’s electrical wiring to transmit internet data, then use a Wi-Fi signal to broadcast that data throughout your home.

Setting up the TP-Link wireless powerline adapters is simple. Firstly, plug both devices into an electrical wall socket. Then, connect the smaller device to your router using the ethernet cable provided. Once both devices are plugged in, press the power button on the smallest adapter for one second, and then do the same on the second device within two minutes. While the devices are connecting, the top two lights on both adapters will flash. This process may take up to two minutes, so don’t worry if it seems to take a while.

Once the adapters are paired, the Wi-Fi clone function on the wireless powerline adapter will automatically copy your router’s network name and password, so you can experience seamless wireless roaming throughout your home. To create a seamless wireless network, simply press the WPS button on your router, then press the Wi-Fi clone button on the powerline adapter and wait until it flashes rapidly. This means that your router and adapter are now synced.

If your router doesn’t have a WPS button, don’t worry. You can contact TP-Link’s customer support team for more information on alternative solutions.

If you already have a powerline network and want to add more adapters, it’s simple to do. Press and hold the power button on the unit connected to the router for one second, then within two minutes, press and hold the power button on the new powerline adapter for one second. The devices will then automatically connect. However, please note that you can only pair two adapters at the same time, and each new adapter must be added separately. Once you’ve added your new adapter, simply repeat the Wi-Fi clone process using the WPS button on the router and the Wi-Fi clone button on the adapter.
