Before we start, it’s important to note that the instructions we provide are for Windows 10 users. However, if you’re running Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8, you should be able to follow along with no issues.
First, open iTunes and select the little drop-down at the top left corner. Then choose “Preferences” and select “Advanced” from the general preferences. This will show you where the iTunes Music is being stored, also known as the iTunes Media.
Once you know the location of your iTunes music, you can browse to that location to get your music. For example, if your iTunes music is on the D: drive, you can browse to that location and find your music.
If you’re having trouble finding your iTunes music, you can try going into your user account and then finding your music folder. Once you’ve found the location of your iTunes music, you can manually transfer the files to your USB flash drive or external hard drive.
It’s important to note that the size of your music library will determine the size of the storage device you need. If your music library is over 64GB, you’ll need a storage device that is larger than 64GB.
To transfer your iTunes music to your storage device, simply right-click on the music folder and select “Copy”. Then go to your storage device, right-click, and select “Paste”. This will copy all your files over to your backup drive or USB flash drive.
If you’re unable to copy your entire directory, you can select specific folders to copy. Simply hold down the shift key on your keyboard and click on the folders you want to copy. Then right-click and select “Copy”. Finally, go to your storage device, right-click, and select “Paste”.
That’s all you need to do to transfer your iTunes music to your computer folder. This is a great way to backup your music library or transfer it to a new computer. Now you can enjoy your music without worrying about losing it.
