If you own an iPad Pro and have been using it for a while, you have probably noticed that the device is not running as smoothly as it used to. One of the reasons for this could be the cache, which is a temporary storage area that stores data from the applications you use. Over time, the cache can accumulate and slow down your device. The good news is that you can clear the cache on your iPad Pro without deleting the app.
First, if you have a home button iPad Pro, you can skip the first step. If you don’t have a home button on your iPad Pro, you need to load up the settings app and find the search at the top. Tap on search and search up for assistive. Once you search that up, you will see Assistive Touch. Tap into this one, then tap on Assistive Touch again and make sure it’s turned on. Then, you’re going to see Custom Actions. Single tap to make sure double-tap is set to none and long press is also set to none. Then, select the single tap and tap on the home button.
Now, when you tap on the Assistive Touch button, you can see it goes home just like that. The next step is to access the power down menu. If you have a physical home button on your iPad Pro, which you can click on physically, then you just hold down the power button until you see the slides power-off menu. However, because we don’t have the home button, the process is slightly different.
You need to hold down volume down and while holding down volume now, we also need to hold down the power button together. Press and hold, don’t release until you see that slide power-off menu. Once you see the slide power-off menu, hold down the home button, so just keep it held down. Give it a couple of seconds, and it should dismiss the slides power-off menu. You need to make sure your finger is dead still when you’re doing this. Once it’s dead still, give that a couple of seconds, and then the cache should clear.
If you down the home button once you are done, you can load back into settings and search for Assistive Touch. Tap into it, just turn this one off if you don’t use it. And that’s it! You have successfully cleared the cache on your iPad Pro without deleting the app. With this simple trick, you can keep your device running smoothly and quickly.
