How to Add Copilot to Office 365

Microsoft has recently announced that it is modernizing the workspace productivity apps by integrating OpenAI’s latest GPT-4. This integration will update the well-known Office apps like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with chat GPT. The integration is officially called Copilot.

The chat GPT integration in Office Suite is not like the original Clippy assistant or Microsoft Editor. Instead, Microsoft 365 Copilot will help you rewrite your documents, create documents from scratch, summarize points, convert documents into PowerPoint slides, analyze Excel cells, and much more. The rollout of Microsoft 365 Copilot is imminent for those in the Office Insider Programs beta channel.

After integrating early bits of Copilot into Word, Microsoft has just updated apps like Excel and OneNote with Copilot support. Unfortunately, the integration doesn’t work now and is just a placeholder. Microsoft 365 Copilot is a new service in preview mode and is not yet generally available to the public.

However, you can request access to the preview by filling out a form on the Microsoft 365 Copilot website. Microsoft will review your request and notify you if you have been granted access to the preview. It’s important to note that Microsoft 365 Copilot is currently only available for Microsoft 365 x 10^5 customers, and certain features may not be available during the preview period. Additionally, there may be bugs or other issues that need to be resolved before the service is made generally available.

To request access to Microsoft 365 Copilot, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Microsoft 365 Copilot website: https://www.microsoft.com/copilot

2. Click on the “Request Access” button on the home page

3. Sign in to your Microsoft account

4. Fill out the request form with your information, including your name, email address, organization name, and why you’re interested in using Microsoft 365 Copilot

5. Click the “Submit” button

Once you submit your request, Microsoft will review your information and let you know if you have been granted access to the preview. Please note that access to Microsoft 365 Copilot is currently limited to Microsoft 365 x 10^5 customers.
