Are you tired of sharing your Alexa with your family members? Do you want to have your own profile on Alexa? In this blog post, we will show you how to set up profiles in Alexa for all family members and demonstrate the advantages of having separated profiles.

When the entire family members work with Alexa, there are a lot of advantages to having their own profile. For example, if you are asking Alexa to send a message, the message will be sent from your name, and if someone else asks Alexa to send a message, it will be sent from their name. So, how do you set up the profiles?

First, open the Alexa app and enter your email and password of your Amazon account. If you don’t have an Amazon account, click create a new Amazon account. After you enter your email and password, click sign-in. For the setup of the first account in the family, click on the account and edit your name to whatever you want. Click agree and continue.

Now, you need to set up your voice ID. This part is very important because it allows Alexa to recognize your voice, call your name, and so on. So, we recommend not skipping this part. Alexa will ask you to read some sentences to recognize your voice. Once you finish, click on done and then click on setup my features to continue.

If you want to be able to make phone calls and send messages to Alexa, enter your phone number, and then click continue. Enter the OTP number you get from Amazon, and then click continue. Click that is everyone, and we’re done with the first profile.

To configure the second profile, open the Alexa app on the smartphone of the family member and enter the Amazon account of the fourth family member. All the family members need to work in the same Amazon account, but now click on the plus button next to “I’m someone else.” Enter the name of the family member and click agree and continue.

Now, the family member needs to set up their voice ID. Click on set up my features and repeat the process. Enter the phone number, but this time, of the second family member. Click that is everyone, and we’re done.

Now that we have set up the profiles, let’s talk about why they are so beneficial. The fourth thing that is very important to me is the calendar. When I’m asking Alexa to schedule a meeting, she adds the meeting to my calendar. And when someone else asks Alexa to schedule a meeting, it is added to their calendar. Also, when we are walking in separated profiles, each member has access to their own contacts.

For example, if I’m asking Alexa to call mom, Alexa will call my mom. And if someone else asks Alexa to call mom, Alexa will call their mom. There is no doubt that walking profile is much more comfortable, and everyone has access to their own things.
