If you have a Google Pixel 3/8 or even a 3a Excel and you want to restore your phone back to its original settings as if you just bought the phone brand new and took it out of the box, then this guide is for you.
Please note that once you do the factory reset, you will lose everything on your phone – your photos, videos, documents, everything will be gone. So make sure you have everything backed up before proceeding.
To start the process, first power off your phone by pressing and holding the power button. Then, do a two-key combination by pressing and holding the power button and the volume down button. Do not let go until the menu pops up.
From the menu, select “Recovery Mode”. To do this, use the volume rocker to scroll down until you see “Recovery Mode” and then press the power button. Once in Recovery Mode, press and hold the power button and then press the volume up button once. This will take you to the Android recovery menu.
From the menu, use the volume rocker to scroll down to where it says “Wipe data / factory reset”. To select it, press the power button. A message will pop up saying “Wipe all user data. This cannot be undone.” Use the volume rocker to select “Yes” and then press the power button.
The phone will start formatting everything back to the original settings, and then it will reboot the phone. Please note that once you do this, you have no way of going back.
