If you’re an Apple TV user, you might already know how convenient it is to use your iPhone as a remote. But if you’re new to this feature, let’s get started on how you can set it up.
Firstly, you need to ensure that the feature is enabled on your iPhone. Simply pull down the control center on your iPhone and scroll down a bit. If you see the Apple TV remote option, then you’re good to go. If not, you need to open your Settings app and go to Control Center. From there, you can add the Apple TV remote to the main area in the Control Center. Just tap the plus sign next to it and it will be added.
Once you have added it, pull down the control center again and tap the remote option to access it. Make sure that you select the correct Apple TV from the list if you have multiple ones. Enter the four-digit number prompted on your TV screen onto your iPhone, and you’re all set.
The iPhone Apple TV remote works similarly to the previous generation Apple TV remote. The middle area acts as a touchpad, allowing you to navigate across the screen, up and down, and side to side. Anything you want to access, you can just tap on it. You can use the menu button in the middle to take you back to your main menu, and there’s even a search button that takes you automatically to a search screen.
If you want to access other features, such as screen savers or the sleep mode, simply hold down on the Apple TV app, and the screen will pop up. Double-tapping on the menu button will bring up your screen savers.
That’s it! You’re now all set up to use your iPhone as an Apple TV remote. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments below. And don’t forget to check out our full playlist of Apple TV tips, tricks, and tutorial videos.
