If you’re the owner of a new Amazon Echo Show 8, you might be interested in trying out its new features. However, you may have realized that they’re not as intuitive or simple to set up as you thought. That’s why we’re here to help! In this article, we’re going to explain how to set up Alexa Home Monitoring, which allows you to use your Show 8 as a surveillance camera.
To start, swipe down from the top of the screen on your Echo Show device and choose “Settings.” From there, select “Camera” and set the Home Monitoring toggle to “on.” Once you’ve finished setting this up, your Echo Show 8 will appear as a camera inside the Alexa app. Alternatively, you can say “Hey Alexa, show me [device name]” to view the camera.
If you want to view the camera from the Alexa app, you can go to “Devices” and then choose “Camera.” Select your Echo Show 8, and you’re all set! You can use this feature to keep an eye on your children or pets while you’re away or simply to check in on your home when you’re out and about.
