How to Use Your iPhone as an Apple TV Remote

Are you tired of constantly losing your Apple TV remote? Did you know that you can use your iPhone as a remote for your Apple TV? In this post, we will walk you through the steps on how to enable your iPhone as an Apple TV remote.

Firstly, make sure that your iPhone has the Apple TV remote enabled. You can check this by pulling down the control center on your iPhone. Scroll down, and if you see the Apple TV remote appear at the bottom, tap on it to open the remote.

If you do not see the Apple TV remote in the control center, you will need to go to your settings application. Scroll down to where it says control center, and add all the controls to the main area in the control center. Find the Apple TV option and tap the plus button to add it to your included controls.

Once the Apple TV remote is added, pull down your control center, scroll up, and tap on the remote. Make sure that the proper Apple TV is selected from when you set it up. If it’s not selected, tap on it and select the one that is being used. You will then be prompted on your TV screen to enter in a four-digit number. Enter this number on your phone, and the Apple TV remote on your iPhone is now active and can be used.

The Apple TV remote on your phone works very similarly to the previous generation of the Apple TV remote. The middle area works as a touchpad, where you can navigate across the screen up and down, side to side. You can access anything you want by tapping on it. The menu buttons in the middle will take you back to your main menu. You have an Apple TV button, pause/play button, Siri, and even a search button.

If you want to access any features, you can hold down on the Apple TV app, and the sleep, not playing, game room sort of like your notification or control center on the Apple TV will pop up. If you double-tap on your menu button, it will bring up your screen savers.

That’s it! You have successfully set up your iPhone as a remote for your Apple TV. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments below. Don’t forget to check out our full playlist of Apple TV tips, tricks, and tutorial videos in the link provided in the description.
