How to Turn Off Internet Access at Night Telstra

Are you having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi? Do you need assistance with troubleshooting your Wi-Fi connection? If you’re experiencing difficulties trying to connect and you’re a Telstra customer, this guide is for you.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot your Wi-Fi connection and get back online.

Firstly, try restarting your modem. Locate the ports on your modem and unplug the power cable from the modem. Restart any devices you are trying to connect, then wait 30 seconds before plugging your modem back in. Once your modem and devices have been reset, ensure that your device’s Wi-Fi ability is turned on, then find and connect to your Wi-Fi network. Unless you’ve changed your name and password, these details can be found on the back or underneath your modem.

If you’re still unable to connect, try changing the Wi-Fi channel type. Type ‘my gateway’ into the URL, select the Wi-Fi symbol, and in the Wi-Fi channel drop-down menu, select a new channel. Save the change, then try connecting again.

If you’re still unable to connect, you can reset your modem using a paper clip. Press and hold the reset button at the back of your modem for 15 seconds. Please note that doing this will reset to factory settings, overriding any password changes, Wi-Fi names, etc. Wait 2-5 minutes until your modem turns back on. For ADSL modems, you may need to re-enter your username and password to reconnect. You can do this on the modem page by entering ‘my gateway’ into the URL. If you’re on NBN, this is not required.

If you still can’t connect using a device connected to the network, check outages.telstra.com to see if there are any disruptions or outages that may be affecting your service.
