Are you switching to a new computer and wondering how to use your iPhone with your PC? While using an iPhone with a PC may not be as seamless as using it with a Mac, it’s still relatively easy to backup your iPhone and import photos.
First, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes (12.5.1 or later) installed on your PC. Then, use a USB to lightning cable to connect your iPhone to your computer. To backup your iPhone, open iTunes and click on the iPhone button in the top left corner of the app. From there, click on Summary and then Backup Now. If you want to encrypt your backup for added security, click on Encrypt Local Backup, enter a password, and click Set Password.
To import photos, click on Start on your PC, then select Photos, and click on Import. If your photos are stored in iCloud, you’ll need to download them using the iCloud desktop app for Windows. Once you enable iCloud photos, new photos will automatically download to your Windows PC.
If you want to sync your iPhone to your PC over Wi-Fi, open iTunes again and click on the Phone button in the top left corner. Then, click on Summary and under Options, click on Sync with this device over Wi-Fi, and click Apply.
While using an iPhone with a PC may not have all the benefits of using it with a Mac, it’s still easy to backup and import photos. With these tips, you’ll be able to use your iPhone with your new computer in no time.
