How to Stop Your Phone from Being Tracked by Parents

It’s understandable to feel like your privacy is being invaded when friends or family members can see your location whenever they want to. If you have “Find My” location sharing turned on your iPhone, you may feel like you’re constantly being tracked. While you can stop sharing your location at any time, doing so might leave your loved ones feeling hurt. Or, you may just want to go off the grid for a bit, or need to hide your location for other reasons without having to stop iPhone location sharing altogether.

If you’re wondering how to stop someone from tracking your iPhone without them knowing, here are three ways you can do it.

Method One: Turn on Airplane Mode

The easiest way to stop someone from tracking your iPhone is to turn on Airplane Mode. This will disable cellular connections and Wi-Fi for uploading and sharing your location. Your iPhone will show the last known location, but not your next destination during the time when the Airplane Mode is turned on. You cannot make calls or surf the internet during this time. Once you’re ready to share your location again, simply disable the Airplane Mode by swiping down the top of your iPhone screen and tapping the Airplane Mode icon again.

Method Two: Share Location from Another iOS Device

If you own another iOS device like an iPad or iPod touch, you can set it up to share your location. Tap Settings, tap on your name at the top, tap on “Find My,” tap on “Use This iPad as My Location,” and then leave your iPad at home or somewhere else. When someone checks, they will not see your actual place. However, this method will not work for those who are family sharing members. Family members can check each other’s devices and see that your iPhone is at home, but not your actual location.

Method Three: Fake a GPS Location on Your iPhone

Changing the location on your iPhone involves tricking your phone into telling the location-based application that you are in a place where you are not. To make this possible, you will need to download a location spoofer app and an iPhone editor on your computer. Connect your iPhone with a USB cable, unlock your device, and trust the computer. Any toke will load the map, select a destination on the map, click on teleport team mode, and enter the address you want. The sidebar will pop up confirming the destination information, click on move, and your iPhone will be there. If you want to appear more realistic, select the multi-spot mode and simulate movement without actually being there.

Remember, these methods can help you hide your iPhone location for a certain period of time, but they won’t work forever. If you’re tired of being tracked, just turn off sharing my location on Find My. With this option, you become truly invisible.
