If you’re experiencing issues with your computer’s graphics or looking to upgrade your GPU, you’ll need to know how to remove and reseat your graphics card. In this guide, we’ll take you through the process step-by-step.
Firstly, before you start, you’ll want to ensure that there are no obstructions in your PC case, and that you can access the screw holes on the left-hand side. If there is anything blocking your access, you’ll need to remove it.
Next, you’ll need to unscrew the card. After you’ve removed the screws, take out any power connections you have by pinching them until they come loose. You may need to wiggle them a little to get them to come out.
Using something soft or your screwdriver, push in the little clip that your card connects to on the motherboard. Your card should then come right out.
When reinstalling your card, ensure that you line up the pin out with the PCIe lane on your motherboard. You’ll also want to connect the hook back onto the card and fasten the card back to the case using the screws you set aside earlier.
Finally, reattach the card to the PSU cable, ensuring that the cables reconnect correctly. Once this is done, reattach the side cover and turn your computer back on.
