How to Replace Your Car Antenna with a Shark Fin Replacement

Are you tired of the traditional black, pointy antenna on your car? Upgrade your vehicle’s look with a shark fin antenna replacement! In this post, we’ll go through the steps of replacing your car’s antenna with a shark fin replacement.

First, you’ll need to purchase a shark fin antenna replacement online or at a local auto parts store. Once you’ve received your new replacement, it’s time to get started.

To begin, you’ll need to clean the area around your antenna thoroughly. This ensures that the adhesive on the replacement will stick well to the car. Once you’ve cleaned the area, you can proceed to remove the old antenna. In most cars, you can remove the antenna by twisting it anti-clockwise and unscrewing it.

Next, take your hairdryer and heat up the adhesive tape on the shark fin replacement. Peel off the first backing, but be sure to leave the 3M side for the actual attachment as it is stronger. Stick the shark fin replacement onto the aerial shaft, making sure it is straight and level. This step can be tricky, so it might be helpful to have someone assist you.

After attaching the shark fin replacement, take the nut that came with it and screw it into the aerial shaft. Leave a small amount hanging out and screw it down tight. Then, take the shark fin loop and place it around the nut. Take the other nut and place it on top, holding it in place. Screw the nut down tight, but be careful not to over-tighten it.

Now it’s time to stick the shark fin replacement down. You can either screw it down first or stick it down first. If you choose to screw it down first, you’ll need to rip a part of the backing tape off as you’re pulling it off. After you’ve stuck it down, use the hairdryer to heat around the edges to ensure the adhesive is nice and stuck.

Finally, open up your car and test out your radio to ensure it’s working properly. With the easy installation process, your car will not only look better but also have improved radio reception. The 3M tape is strong and should keep the shark fin replacement in place for a long time.
