How to Replace Toner in Brother Printer: A Step-by-Step Guide

If you own a Brother printer, you know that there will come a day when you will have to change the toner. When that day comes, you don’t want to be caught unprepared. In this guide, we will walk you through how to replace toner in Brother printer, specifically the HL-L-390DW model with TN-730 and TN-760 toner cartridges.

Firstly, when you see the message “Please Wait Toner Lo,” it’s time to replace your toner cartridge. If you don’t remember which one you bought or can’t find it, don’t worry. There’s a sticker on top of the cartridge that tells you whether it’s the high-capacity or regular capacity cartridge.

Next, locate the toner cartridge by opening the printer’s front cover. There are two tabs on either side of the cartridge. Use your finger to pop them open gently. The cartridge will rock forward, revealing another sticker that tells you what kind of toner cartridge it is. There’s also a serial number.

To remove the old toner cartridge, gently pull it out using the handle on the left side. Place it in a bag, as it may leak. Take your replacement cartridge and remove the plastic covering from the back. Press the green button to release the old cartridge from the tray, and then snap the new cartridge into place. Move the slider from side to side a few times to prime the new toner cartridge.

Finally, slide the tray back into place, close the front cover, and turn on the printer. If you did everything correctly, you should see the regular screen, and your printer will be ready to use.

Replacing the toner cartridge may seem complicated at first. Still, with these step-by-step instructions, you’ll be able to do it with ease. No more waiting for a technician or struggling with your printer. Happy printing!
