How to Put iPhone 12 into DFU Mode or Recovery Mode

If you are in a situation where you need to put your iPhone 12 into DFU mode or recovery mode, the process is very easy. However, it is important to keep in mind that these are two different processes.

For recovery mode, which is a way to restore your software if your phone is messing up for some reason, the process is pretty easy. The very first thing you want to do is make sure you plug in your iPhone into your computer. It doesn’t have to be iTunes, but you just want to go ahead and trust your computer whenever that little toggle comes up. At this point, what you can do is go ahead and set your phone into DFU mode or recovery.

To put your phone into recovery mode, press the volume up button, then the volume down button, and then the power button. Hold down the power button until your phone boots up into recovery mode. As long as your phone is plugged in, keep holding down the power button until the phone boots into recovery mode.

DFU mode is another mode that you can get into if you want to update your phone or delete everything off your phone. For this, you want to go through pretty much the same process as for recovery mode. You will press the volume up button, then the volume down button, and then you will hold down the power button until the screen turns off. Then, let go of the power button and hold down the volume down button and power button at the exact same time.

If the screen is off, your computer will be able to recognize that your phone is actually in DFU mode. You should be able to see on your computer that your phone is in DFU mode. You can go ahead and check iTunes and restore your iPhone or do a ton of other things.

Remember to make sure your phone is plugged in when doing these processes. If you have any other questions, let us know in the comment section below.
