How to Organize Your YouTube Channel

Organizing your YouTube channel is a simple yet effective way to make it look more professional and help viewers find the videos they’re interested in. Creating sections is one of the best ways to do this, and it’s pretty easy to do.

When you’re logged into your YouTube channel, go to the Creator Studio and under Video Manager, click on Playlists. Here, you’ll see all the playlists on your channel. If you haven’t created any playlists, this area will be blank. Click on New Playlist at the top, and name the playlist so viewers know what type of videos will be in this list. You can also choose whether to make the playlist public, unlisted or private.

On this page, you can start adding videos to the playlist by clicking on the Your YouTube Videos button. When you’re done selecting, click on Add Videos at the bottom. This page now lists all the videos in the newly created playlist. Before leaving this page, copy the URL of the playlist by clicking on the Share button.

To add the playlist to your main channel page, click on My Channel. If the Add Section button is missing, click on the gear icon next to the Subscribe button. Flip the switch to be able to customize your channel. The Add Section button should now appear at the bottom of the main page. Click on Add Sections and choose a Single Playlist in the Content section. Select Enter Playlist URL in the Choose a Playlist menu, and paste the URL you copied earlier. After you click Save, the new section will appear on your YouTube page with the name of the playlist as the title.

You can repeat the previous steps to add more sections on your YouTube page. You can also reorder the sections so you can have the most important ones up top. You can have a total of 10 custom sections.

Another cool thing you can do is to automatically add videos to a certain playlist. To do this, go back to the Playlist creator and choose the playlist you want to automatically add videos to. Click on Playlist Settings and in the window, click on Auto Add. Add a rule, and any video you upload that matches the rule will automatically show up in the designated playlist.

By organizing videos into sections, you can help viewers find the videos they’re interested in. The sections can also be reordered, and you can have up to 10 custom sections. This simple yet effective way of organizing your YouTube channel makes it look more professional and viewer-friendly.
