Do you ever get tired of the same old alarm sounds on your phone? Well, did you know that you can make your own alarm sound from any video on your camera roll? In this guide, we’ll show you how to take a sound or song from any video and turn it into your alarm.
The process takes about three or four steps, but it’s pretty straightforward. This whole process also works for creating a ringtone for your phone or setting the same sound or song to a contact. For this guide, we’ll focus on setting it as your alarm.
First, you need the video from which you want to extract the sound or song. Once you have it, download it to your Photos app. Step two requires two different apps that have to be on your phone before you can proceed. The first one is called Ringtone Maker, and the second one is GarageBand.
Open the Ringtone Maker app and import the video you just downloaded. Press the plus sign and choose the video from your Photos app. It will extract the audio or the song from the video. Then press “I” and “Make Ringtone.” You will be asked to copy it to GarageBand, which is why you need it installed on your phone.
Open GarageBand and turn your phone the other way. Press the plus sign, and if you need to change it to exactly 30 bars, you can do that. Then press the down arrow and save it as your song. This is also editable, so you can make it shorter or longer or edit it with other files.
Press and hold the song and scroll down to press “Share.” Then select “Ringtone” and name it something that you’ll remember. Press “Export,” and it will export it as a ringtone. If you want to set it as a ringtone, select that option. To set it as your alarm, open the Clocks app, go to the alarm tab, press the plus sign, and select the sound option. The ringtone that you saved will now become your alarm.
While it’s not a one-click solution, it’s a great way to personalize your alarm sound. You can also use GarageBand to make your own sound. Give it a try and see how you like it!
