Tailoring your content to your audience and presenting information that gets your point across is crucial in a good presentation. When creating a new presentation in Google Slides, the slides are set to horizontal by default. However, if you want to change them to vertical, there is a simple process you can follow in just a few steps.
First, open your browser and head to Google Slides. Then, open a new presentation. Once you have a new presentation open, click on the file tab and select “page setup” to open slide customization.
Next, click on the drop-down list and select “custom” from the options shown. In the text fields that appear, type in the dimensions you want your slides to appear. The first box is for the width, and the second box is for the height. The drop-down box provides other measurements such as centimeters, pixels, and points. For a default slide, the dimensions are 10 by 5.62 inches. To turn the presentation vertically, you will have to reverse these measurements or choose the slide dimensions based on your needs.
Once you have selected your desired dimensions, hit the “apply” button. This selection will apply the changes to every slide. Please note that you cannot make one part of the show horizontal while another section is viewed vertically.
If you want to create an aesthetically pleasing portrait slide, you can keep the custom dimensions of the slides as 8.5 by 11 inches, which is the size of an A4 paper. This layout dimension works well when you need to print the slides.
In just a few steps, you can easily change the orientation of a slide as per your requirement. This feature makes Google Slides a great tool for creating engaging presentations that cater to your audience’s needs.
