How to Make a 1.8 Bukkit Server

In this tutorial, we will be showing you how to set up a Spigot server. First, download Spigot from the official website. Choose the version that is compatible with your Minecraft version and save the file in a folder of your choice.

Once the download is complete, create a new folder where you will have your Spigot server and rename the Spigot file you just downloaded to “spigot.jar”. Open a text editor and copy and paste the command from the description into the text editor. Save the file as “run.bat” in the Spigot server folder.

To change the amount of RAM on your server, replace the number “1” in the command with the amount of RAM you want to allocate, such as “2” or “3”. Save the file and run the “run.bat” file again.

Your server should start making new files and folders. Open the “eula.txt” file and change “false” to “true”, then save the file. Run the “run.bat” file again, and your server should start preparing the spawn area.

Once it’s done, type “stop” into the terminal and hit enter to close the server. You can now change the settings and server properties as desired. If you want to learn how to download plugins, check out our other tutorial video.

To join your server, open Minecraft and connect to your local server using “localhost”. After the server is prepared, you should be able to join and start playing with your friends.

Congratulations, you have successfully set up a Spigot server! Have fun and enjoy your new server.
