If you’re someone who spends a lot of time working with computers, you’re probably always on the lookout for new tools to make your life easier. That’s where PSExec comes in. This powerful set of tools can help you manage your computer more efficiently, but before you can use it, you need to know how to install it. In this post, we’ll walk you through the process step-by-step.

Step 1: Download PSExec

The first thing you need to do is download PSExec. You can do this by going directly to Microsoft’s website and clicking the download button. Once the download is complete, you’ll have a zipped folder. There’s no need for any extra software to unzip it. Open the zip folder, select everything using Ctrl+A, copy everything using Ctrl+C, and create a new folder called PS Tools. Paste everything in there.

Step 2: Move to System32

Now that you have the PS Tools folder, you need to move it to your System32 folder. To do this, go to your C drive, then click Windows, and hit S on your keyboard to take you to the System32 folder. Grab your PS Tools folder and move it over to your System32 folder. If you already have a PS Tools folder, override it.

Step 3: Edit Your Path

The next step is to edit your path. This is so your computer knows where to look for PSExec. Go to the Start button, right-click on Computer, select Properties, then select Advanced System Settings and Environment Variables. Locate your path and click Edit. Remove it and paste your file path to your PSExec tools. Make sure to include a semicolon at the end. This is critical. Click OK, then OK, then OK. Close your Windows Explorer.

Step 4: Test Your Installation

To test that everything is installed correctly, open up your command prompt. Type in PSExec and hit enter. If you get all of the help information, you’ve installed everything correctly. Congratulations!

Now that you know how to install PSExec, you can use it for multiple things. If you have any ideas, leave them in the comments. With PSExec, you’ll be able to manage your computer more efficiently and get more done. Give it a try and let us know what you think.
