If you’re running low on storage space on your HP laptop, don’t worry, you’re not alone. In this post, we’ll show you how to clear all cache in Windows 10 to free up space.
First, head on over to the start menu and right-click to run. From here, type in “prefetch” and press “OK”. You’ll be prompted to run as administrator, and you’ll see a bunch of files that take up a lot of space. Click on any item, press “Ctrl A”, and then press “Ctrl D” to delete all those files.
Next, right-click on the start menu again and select “Run”. Delete your temporary files by typing “temp” and selecting all the files (press “Ctrl A”) and deleting them (press “Ctrl D”). Do the same for “%temp%”, and then head back to the start menu to search for “This PC”. Click on the C drive, go to Windows, then Software Distribution, and finally, Download. Delete everything in this folder as an administrator.
Afterward, visit the C drive’s properties, go to tools, and optimize and defrag your drive. Do this once a month or every couple of weeks for best results.
Next, do a disk cleanup to get rid of all the pesky files that you aren’t using. Select “Clean up system files” to clean up that pesky mess.
Lastly, clear the cache for your DNS by typing in “ipconfig /flushdns” in command prompt admin. Clear the cache for the Windows store by typing “wsreset” in the same way.
By following these steps, you’ll clear up space on your HP laptop in no time!
