If you’re an Oculus Quest 2 user, you may have experienced the “black screen of death.” This is when your headset randomly doesn’t load up and you’re stuck on a black screen. The good news is that this issue can be fixed quite easily.
Firstly, make sure that your headset was charged up properly. This is the most common reason why the Oculus Quest 2 won’t open up or loads up slowly. If your headset wasn’t charged in the first place, it won’t work. So, ensure that your headset is charged up before trying anything else.
If your headset was charged up but still not working, you may want to unplug it completely. Check around your headset to see if you dropped it or if there are any random issues with it. Hold down the power button on the side and see if it powers on. If it doesn’t, plug it back in and try holding down the power button again.
If your headset is still not working, check the proximity sensor that’s between the lenses in your headset. You’ll find a little proximity sensor there. Cover the headset and see if the black screen goes away. If it doesn’t, try covering and cleaning that sensor.
In most cases, the main reason for the black screen of death is due to the fact that your headset wasn’t charged. So, charging up your headset might be the only thing you need to do to fix this issue.
