How to Filter Yahoo Mail: A Step-by-Step Guide

Are you tired of sifting through countless emails in your Yahoo Mail inbox? Do you wish there was a way to automatically sort your messages into specific folders? Look no further! In this guide, we’ll show you how to create a filter in Yahoo Mail that will help you organize your incoming messages.

Firstly, it’s important to note that this approach works regardless of whether you’re using Yahoo Mail in Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or even Safari. While the visuals may differ slightly depending on your computer and Yahoo Mail setup, the steps to create a filter remain the same.

To begin, open up your Yahoo Mail account. Filters are incredibly useful for automatically sorting messages, so take some time to think about which types of emails you receive often and would like to automatically move to a certain folder. For example, you may want to create a filter for emails related to education.

Once you’ve identified the type of email you’d like to filter, open up the message and click on the three dots located on the right side of the screen. From the drop-down menu that appears, select “Filter messages like this.”

Yahoo Mail will then prompt you to create a filter based on the selected message. You can choose to filter by sender, subject, or even specific words or phrases in the email body. In this case, we’ll filter by sender. Yahoo Mail will automatically fill in the sender’s email address, but you can edit this if necessary.

After selecting the sender, click on “Choose folder” and select the folder you’d like to move these messages to. In our example, we’re moving messages related to education to an “Education” folder. If you haven’t created a folder yet, you’ll need to do so before creating a filter.

Finally, click on “Save” to create the filter. From now on, any new messages that meet the criteria you set will be automatically moved to the selected folder.

Creating a filter in Yahoo Mail is a simple yet effective way to keep your inbox organized and make your email experience more efficient. Give it a try and see how it can help simplify your life!
