How to Download Files from Dropbox to iPad

Online cloud storage platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive can be fantastic for storing your files, but when you’re using iOS apps, it can be difficult to work out how to download your files so that you can use them on your iPhone or your iPad. In this post, we’ll show you how to do just that.

Firstly, it’s worth mentioning that we have files integration on iOS. If you want to just jump into your files app, you can actually add these as locations. However, in this post, we’ll be looking at how to download a single file using the iOS app.

Let’s start with Google Drive. Open the Google Drive app on your iPhone and find the file you want to download. Tap on the ellipsis (three dots) and then tap on the box with the share line. Tap “Open In” and then choose where you want to save the file. You can open it directly and transfer it straight to an app or save it to your files. If you choose to save it to your files, you can then navigate to that location and see the file ready to use.

For Dropbox, the process is pretty much the same. Find the file you want to download and tap the ellipsis just underneath it. Scroll down until you find “Export” and tap on it. Then tap “Open In” and choose where you want to save the file. Once you’ve chosen where to save it, you can navigate to that location to see the file.

Finally, for OneDrive, find the file you want to download and tap on the ellipsis (sideways three dots). Tap on “Share” and then wait for it to export. Once it’s exported, you can tap “Save to Files” and choose where to save the file. After saving, you can navigate to that location in your files and see the file ready to use.

Regardless of which platform you’re using, you can easily use the open, share, or export functions to download files to your device. If you want to download a file, look for these functions, rather than a download or save button, and you’ll be able to transfer those files to your device to use in any other application.

We hope you found this post valuable and it helps you with your iOS file management. If you’d like to check out more videos about managing your files in iOS, you can find the links in the description below.
