How to Disable Android System Webview and Fix App Crashes

Many Android users are experiencing app crashes due to a common issue with the Android System Webview application. If you’ve tried to uninstall updates for this application but found it disabled, it’s likely because the function is covered by Chrome on Android 7.0 Nougat or Android 8.

To activate Webview, follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings and select Apps.

2. Scroll down and select Application Manager.

3. Disable Chrome for now.

4. Go back to the Play Store, type in System Webview, and update it.

5. Go back to Settings and select Apps again.

6. Select Application Manager and show all apps.

7. Find Android System Webview, go to Storage, and clear the data.

8. Select uninstall updates and let it uninstall everything.

9. Reboot or restart your device.

After completing these steps, try your applications again. They should work without crashing.

It’s important to note that when you search for System Webview in the Play Store, you won’t see an option to uninstall the application or its updates. This is why you need to disable Chrome temporarily and update the Webview application to fix the issue.

By following these steps, you can disable Android System Webview and fix app crashes on your Android device.
