Are you tired of having cluttered email folders that you no longer need? Gmail makes it easy to tidy up your inbox by allowing you to delete any unwanted folders. In this guide, we’ll explain how to quickly delete a folder from your Gmail inbox.
First, make sure you are logged into Google and in your Gmail inbox. In Gmail, folders are referred to as labels but function similarly to folders. You can find them listed on the left-hand side of your inbox.
To delete a folder, move your mouse pointer over it. You’ll see it highlighted, and a small three dots icon will appear on the right side of the folder. Note that some folders may not have this icon; these are system labels created by Gmail that cannot be deleted but can be hidden.
Once you’ve selected the folder you want to delete, click on the three dots icon. A drop-down list will appear, and near the bottom of the list, select the “remove label” option. This is essentially the option to delete the folder.
A pop-up box will appear, asking you to confirm that you want to remove the selected label or folder. If you’re sure you want to delete the folder, click on the large blue “delete” button. Note that deleting a folder does not delete the emails stored in that folder, as they will still be in your inbox.
After confirming the deletion, Gmail will confirm that the label has been removed, and you’ll notice that the folder is no longer in the list in your inbox.
We hope you found this guide helpful in cleaning up your Gmail inbox. Remember to keep your inbox organized by deleting any unnecessary folders.
