How to Create a Task from an Email in Outlook

Outlook is a powerful tool for managing your emails and tasks. In this blog post, we will discuss three ways to turn an email into a task using Outlook.

The first technique is drag and drop. Simply navigate to your inbox, left-click and hold down on the email you want to turn into a task, then drag it to the bottom left of your screen where the clipboard with a check mark is located. Release the mouse button, and the task will open up, allowing you to make changes. You can set a due date, add reminders, and more.

The second technique is using the follow-up flag from the ribbon or pop-up menu. Select the email you want to turn into a task and choose the follow-up flag. You can set the due date and time, and a flag will appear on the right-hand side of your email indicating that it has been flagged for follow-up.

The third option is to convert an email into a task on your calendar. Select the email, right-click, and find quick steps. Choose “create an appointment,” and you can set the amount of time you need to complete the task, add a message to yourself in the body, insert a file, and more. The email will be added as an attachment to your task on your calendar.

Once you have created your tasks, you can view them by clicking on “tasks” in the bottom left navigation bar or by changing the view to include tasks on the right navigation bar. This way, you can easily keep track of your tasks and complete them on time.

In conclusion, turning an email into a task can help you stay organized and on top of your to-do list. Try out these three techniques and see which one works best for you. Let us know in the comments if you found this post helpful and if you have any suggestions on how we can improve our content.
