If you’re looking to properly set up your home theater system, one of the most important steps is connecting your speakers to your Yamaha AV receiver. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of connecting your wireless speakers to your receiver to ensure the best sound quality possible.
First, take a look at the back of your receiver. You should see parts that are colored red and black, as well as a diagram indicating how you should position the speakers around your TV. For example, the front right speaker should be positioned on the right side of the TV, and there are also surround speakers that you may have behind you or on the sides.
Each of these parts is identified above them, so you know where to plug in each speaker. Before starting, make sure that the unit is not powered on and unplugged from the AC outlet.
Most speakers have two wires coming out of them, and it’s important to identify which one is positive and which one is negative. The negative wire is usually marked with a minus sign, and the positive wire is marked with a plus sign. It’s recommended that you write on a masking tape which speaker is which to avoid mixing them up.
When plugging the wires into the receiver, make sure you respect the correct order of positive and negative wires. The positive wire is usually the red connector, and the negative wire is the black one. As a safety measure, make sure that the wires are not touching each other, so you need to twist them well.
You can also use connectors called banana plugs, which attach the wires to a plug that is much easier to connect. However, most people don’t have them, so we’ll show you how to do it without them.
To start connecting your speakers, first choose the front right speaker. Make sure you have the right wires and then undo the positive connector by turning it counterclockwise. Take the tip of the wire and insert it inside the farthest you can, then turn the connector clockwise so that the wire will stay trapped inside.
Do the same thing for the negative wire, then repeat the process for each of the remaining speakers. Make sure the wires are properly inserted, and they’re not going anywhere.
Finally, connect the subwoofer by finding the subwoofer Port and pushing it all the way in.
By following these simple steps, you can easily connect your wireless speakers to your Yamaha receiver and enjoy high-quality sound for your home theater system.
