Have you ever wondered if someone is secretly forwarding your emails to another address? It’s always better to be safe than sorry, so it’s a good idea to check whether your emails are being forwarded to another email ID without your knowledge. In Outlook, it’s easy to forward emails from one email account to another. But how can you make sure that nobody is redirecting your emails without your consent? In this blog post, we will show you how to check if your email is being forwarded in Outlook.
To start with, you need to go to the “Home” tab and select “Rules” from the “Move” section. Click on “Manage Rules and Alerts” under the “Email Rules” tab. Here, you can select the email ID to which you want to apply the rules. If you want to forward all your emails, you don’t need to specify any condition. Just click on “New Rule” and select “Apply rule on messages I receive.” Then press “Next.”
Outlook will ask you to select a condition, but if you don’t want to specify any condition, simply select “Next.” You will receive a message saying, “This rule will be applied to every message you receive. Is this correct?” Click “Yes.” Now you need to select what you want to do with the message. Here, you need to select two actions. First, select “Redirect it to people or public group” by checking the box. Then, select “Stop processing more rules” under step 2.
Edit the rule description where it says “Redirected to people or public group.” Click in the box and type the email address that you want to forward your emails to. Then click on “OK,” “Finish,” “Apply,” and “OK.” Now, you’re done.
It’s important to note that the first time you get an email redirected from another email ID, it might go to your spam or junk folder. Therefore, it is crucial to check your junk folder and make sure that the redirected emails are not there. If they are there, you need to bring them back to your inbox and add them to your safe sender list.
By the way, did you know that you could make your email accounts more secure by forwarding your emails from different email IDs to your main email ID? In other words, by not using your main email ID in many places and using other email IDs and then forwarding them to your main email ID, you can make your main email ID more secure.
