Snapchat has been rolling out new features over the last few years, and one of the most interesting ones is undoubtedly Cameo. Released at the end of 2019, Cameos allows users to create dozens of funny videos for their friends, all from a single selfie. The technology behind it is pretty impressive, and it’s only gotten better in the months since its launch.
Of course, since Cameo works off a single selfie, you may find that it becomes outdated over time. Luckily, it’s easy to change. Here’s how to do it:
First, open up Snapchat and head to the chat window to the left of the camera viewfinder. Open a chat that you want to use to send your selfie, then click on the smiley face icon next to the chat box along the bottom of the app. If you have yet to create your Cameo, look for a face outline icon on the icons at the bottom of the app. Then, follow the instructions to create a selfie for your Cameo.
If you’re watching this video, you probably already created a Cameo and are looking to change your selfie to something fresher. To change your selfie, repeat the steps described above to get to the Cameos tab in Snapchat. Then, press and hold on any Cameo tile in the app. Here’s where you’ll find cameo options, including the ability to enable two-person Cameos, export the Cameo, and view the video in fullscreen.
To select a new selfie, click on the “new selfie” option. Snapchat will reopen the “create my Cameo” menu, where you can place your face in the outline. Tap on the camera button to save your new selfie for Cameo.
If you want to delete your Cameo selfie without replacing it with something new, you’ll need to head to the settings menu. Head back to the viewfinder, then tap on your profile icon in the top left corner. Tap the settings icon in the top right corner, then scroll all the way down this menu until you see the account actions submenu. Tap “clear my Cameo selfie,” then tap “clear” again to confirm your Cameo’s deletion.
And that’s it! Changing your Cameo selfie is easy, and it’s a great way to keep your videos fresh and up-to-date.
