If you’re tired of the same old default alarm sounds on your iPhone and want to use a custom sound or even a sound from a video, this tutorial is for you. With just a few simple steps, you can turn any video sound into your alarm or ringtone. And the best part? You don’t need a computer to do it, just your phone.

First, find the video you want to use. You can either use a video file or a video that’s already on the internet. For this example, we’ll be using a TikTok video. If you’re having trouble finding a specific sound on TikTok, check out the account called “Transcribed Sounds” for a list of popular sounds that are transcribed.

Next, head to the Kapwing Convert Tool and either upload your file or paste the URL of the video you want to use. Choose the MP3 option and hit create. Once the video is converted to an MP3 file, download it to your device.

Now that you have the sound on your device, you need to transfer it to your ringtones and alarm sounds. To do this, open GarageBand, an app that should already be on your iPhone. Click the plus sign to make a new project and then click the audio recorder. From there, click on the looping icon and hit “Files.” Browse through the files app to find the MP3 file you just downloaded. Once you’ve found it, hold down and drag it into the project area.

The maximum amount of time you can have for a ringtone or an alarm is 30 seconds, so make sure to adjust the length accordingly. Once you’ve trimmed or split the sound to your desired length, click on the down arrow and go to “My Songs.” Hold down the project you just made and click “Share,” then choose “Ringtone.” Rename it or leave it as is and hit “Export.”

Now that you have your custom ringtone, head back to your alarm and edit the alarm you want to change. Under “Sound,” select “Ringtones” and choose the custom ringtone you just made. You can also use this sound as your general ringtone by going to “Settings,” “Sounds and Haptics,” and selecting it under “Ringtone.”

That’s it! With just a few simple steps, you can have a custom ringtone or alarm sound on your iPhone. Try it out and enjoy waking up to your favorite sound.
