How to Allow Universal Access on Steam Mac

Are you having issues with Steam on your OS X Mavericks? Do you see an error message that says the in-game steam overlay requires four assisted devices to be enabled? If you’re nodding your head, then this blog post is for you.

First, you need to exit Steam. You can do this by right-clicking on Steam and pressing quit. Once you’ve done that, go to System Preferences > Security and Privacy. From there, click on Privacy and then Accessibility. You should see Steam, but it will be grayed out because of the lock.

To unlock it and allow universal access, you’ll need to type in your password. Once you’ve done that, tick the box next to Steam, lock the changes, and you’re good to go.

Now, when you open up Steam, you should have no problems at all. You won’t see the error message anymore, and you’ll be able to use Steam seamlessly on your OS X Mavericks.

We hope this blog post helped you solve your issue with Steam. If it did, don’t forget to leave a like.
