Adding a watermark to your Google Docs is a great way to attribute copyright and prevent others from stealing your resources. However, there is no quick and easy way to do this. Hence, we will be using Google Drawings to create a watermark.
To get started, open Google Drawings and go to “File” at the top left. Click on “Page setup” and choose “Custom.” Change the page dimensions to A4, which is 21 by 29.7 centimeters.
Now, add your logo or branding in the background. Once your logo is in the right position, select the image and go to “Format options.” Adjust the opacity to make it more transparent. Keep it around 75%, since it’s a watermark.
The watermark is now ready! To add text to your document, draw a text box over the top of the watermark or copy and paste the information from your document. Once your document is done, download it by going to “File” and clicking “Download,” then choose PNG.
To insert the watermark into your Google Docs, you have two options. You can either insert it directly from the downloaded file or adjust the page dimensions so that it fits from corner to corner. To adjust the page dimensions, go to “File,” then “Page setup,” and look at the margins part of the document. Select all the points and change them to zero. This will remove all the outlines on your document, and you can now insert your drawing from corner to corner.
In conclusion, adding a watermark to your Google Docs is an effective way to protect your resources online. It may take some time to create, but it’s worth the effort to ensure your work is properly attributed.
