If you’re an iPhone user, you might already know about the convenience of Apple Pay. You can use it to make payments without taking out your wallet, and it’s a secure way to pay for things. But in order to use Apple Pay, you need to add a credit card or debit card to your Apple Wallet. Here’s how to do it.
First, go to the app called Wallet on your iPhone. If you want, you can share your location with Wallet. This is particularly useful to prevent fraud when you do transactions in apps and online. Then, tap on “Add Credit or Debit Card.”
To make payments, Apple Pay uses NFC. Scan your credit card from the side where your credit card number is written. Then, your iPhone will extract your full name and your code number. Double-check that it is correct and tap on “Next.”
Make sure the expiration date is correct and then enter your security code. Then, tap on “Next.” Every credit card company has terms and conditions set for Apple Wallet. Read it and when you’re happy, tap on “Agree.”
Now, you will need to verify your credit card. Usually, it is done by a text message from your bank, or you could call your bank to approve adding your credit card to Apple Wallet. If your phone number is correct, you can go with the first option and tap on “Next.” You should get a text message to your phone. Enter the verification code and then tap on “Next.”
In order to learn how to use Apple Wallet, tap on “Learn More.” Here you can read the steps that you need to follow in order to make payments using Apple Wallet. Basically, you would have to double-click on the side button and then either enter your passcode or face ID to open Wallet, and then bring the phone over the reader to make the payment. Since you have to use postcode or face ID to make this payment, it is safer than using a contactless credit card.
Finally, tap on “Done,” and you have successfully added your credit card. If you need to add another credit card in the future, you can tap the plus sign. Remember, adding your credit card to Apple Wallet is a convenient and secure way to make payments.
