If you’re a fan of The Sims 3, you know how important custom content is to the game. There are tons of amazing skins, clothes, and other items that you can download to make your game even more fun. However, not all custom content comes in the form of Sims 3 files – sometimes you’ll come across package files.
Installing package files requires a bit of extra work, but it’s still easy to do. First, you’ll need to download the package files from a trusted website. Once you’ve downloaded the files, you’ll need to extract them from the zip folder. You can use a program like 7-zip to do this.
Next, you’ll need to locate your Sims 3 folder. If you don’t have a mods folder within your Sims 3 folder, you’ll need to create one. Once you have a mods folder, you can drag and drop the downloaded mods folder into it.
Within the mods folder, you’ll see a packages folder. This is where your package files need to go. Open up the packages folder and drag and drop your package files into it. If you already have some package files in the folder, your new files will be added to them.
It’s important to note that Sims 3 files should not go into the packages folder – they should go directly into the mods folder.
And that’s it! You’re now ready to enjoy all the amazing custom content that Sims 3 has to offer. If you found this tutorial helpful, be sure to leave a comment down below. And if there’s anything else you’d like a tutorial on – whether it’s related to Sims 3 or Sims 4 – let us know!
