If you’re in the market for a new TV, you may have heard of HDR or High Dynamic Range. HDR is a feature that allows for a wider range of colors and brightness levels, providing a more immersive viewing experience. But how can you tell if your TV has HDR?
In a recent how-to video, Maniac, a popular gamer, explains how you can confirm if your Samsung Smart TV is using HDR. First, Maniac recommends plugging in an Apple 4K TV, as it always outputs in 4K HDR as long as it’s set to do so. Then, simply hit the info button on your remote control, and you should see the TV’s info displayed on the screen.
If the TV is currently using HDR mode, you should see “HDR” and “UHD” together in the upper right-hand corner. This indicates that the current video input is currently in HDR mode. Note that this will not work when using television smart apps, as they will automatically go to whatever it is that the app supports.
By following these steps, you can confirm whether your Samsung Smart TV is using HDR, and enjoy a more immersive viewing experience.
