If you have misplaced your Amazon Fire Tablet, don’t panic! The “Find Your Tablet” feature on your device can help you locate and secure it. To use this feature, you need to turn on location services and find your tablet settings before your tablet is lost.
To enable location services on your Fire Tablet, swipe down from the top of the screen, tap Settings, tap device options, and then tap the switch to “on” next to “Find Your Tablet”. If prompted, enable location-based services. You can also access the “Find Your Tablet” options by visiting amazon.com/mycd, accessing your devices, and selecting your tablet. Then, open the device actions menu to use any device action.
To use any device action, your device must be turned on and connected to a wireless network. If your Fire Tablet is turned off or not connected to a network, Amazon will keep trying to reach the device for three days. The device actions include:
– Remote alarm: This activates an alarm on your device for two minutes to help you find your tablet.
– Find your tablet: This shows you a map displaying the Fire Tablet’s last known location. However, the maps and location information used in “Find Your Tablet” may be inaccurate or unavailable depending on a number of factors. This feature is not intended to be relied upon in situations where precise location information is needed.
– Remote lock: This allows you to lock your tablet with a lock screen pin and display a message on the lock screen.
– Remote factory reset: This feature is only to be used if you believe your Fire Tablet will not be found or returned. You can initiate a remote factory reset to remove all personal content from the tablet and restore it to its original factory settings. However, you will no longer be able to track your tablet after the reset.
Note that at least 30% battery level is required, and your Fire Tablet must be connected to a wireless network for a remote factory reset to be performed. If the battery is below 30%, the device will remain locked until the battery level reaches 30%, and a factory reset can be performed.
