Have you ever encountered an error message that says “Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer, Code 45”? This error usually pops up when Windows fails to recognize some of your hardware devices connected to your computer. Don’t worry, there are a few possible fixes that you can try to resolve this issue.
Manually Reinstall Your Device
The first method you can try is to manually reinstall your device. Begin by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting Device Manager. Here, you will find the device that is giving you that error code. Right-click on it and select Uninstall Device. Check the box that says “Delete the driver software for this device” (if available) and click on Uninstall. Next, click on Action and then on Scan for Hardware Changes. This will scan your system and reinstall your device with its corresponding driver. After that, restart your computer, go to Device Manager, and see if the Code 45 message is gone.
Run Windows Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter
The second method is to run the Windows Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter. Right-click on Start and select Windows PowerShell (Admin). If you don’t have it there, right-click on Start and select Search. Type “Windows PowerShell” and right-click on it to select Run as Administrator. Type the command that you see on your screen, hit Enter, and this troubleshooter window will open. Click Next and let it finish with detecting any hardware changes. After it finishes, close the window and restart your computer. Now check in Device Manager if Code 45 is fixed.
Run Check Disk
The third method is to run Check Disk. Right-click on Start and select Search. Type “Command Prompt” and right-click on it to select Run as Administrator. Type the command “chkdsk.exe /f” and press Enter. You will have to press “Y” on your keyboard to confirm that you want to run Check Disk next time you start your computer. Note that this scan can take some time to complete. After restarting your computer, check if error Code 45 is gone in Device Manager.
In summary, there are a few possible solutions to fix the Code 45 error message in Device Manager. You can manually reinstall your device, run the Windows Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter, or run Check Disk. By following these methods, you can reconnect your hardware device to your computer and get back to your work.
