Typing out messages on a mobile device can be a hassle, especially when you only have one hand free. Fortunately, glide typing or swipe to text can help make things easier. In this guide, we’ll show you how to use glide typing on your Android device using the Gboard keyboard.
To get started, open up the Gboard keyboard and select glide typing. Simply swipe on the letters you want to use to create words. The keyboard will do its best to guess which word you’re typing, and the more you use glide typing, the better it gets. If you make a mistake, simply delete the word by sliding left from the Delete key.
One of the great things about glide typing is that you don’t have to hit the space key. Instead, swipe out one word and then move immediately to the next one. The keyboard will automatically insert a space in between the two words.
If you’re using the Gboard keyboard, you can find glide typing settings by long-pressing on the comma key and selecting “glide typing.” From there, you can choose to turn on the gesture trail animation, enable gesture cursor control, and more.
Glide typing may take some getting used to, but it can be a great solution when you only have one hand free or you’re on the go. With a little practice, you might even find that you prefer it over traditional typing.
