If you own a PSP, you may be interested in updating your firmware to the latest version. However, if your PSP is old, it may not be able to connect to the internet to download the firmware. In this post, we’ll show you how to update your PSP to official firmware from 6.60 to 6.61 without the internet.
First, you’ll need an SD card and an adapter to use with your PSP. Make sure you have a desktop or laptop that has an SD card adapter port, as you’ll need to transfer files from your computer to the SD card.
Next, head over to your computer and visit a website where you can download the official firmware for your PSP model. Download the 6.60 or 6.61 official firmware for the 1k, 2k, 3k, Street version of the PSP, or the PSP Go.
Once you’ve downloaded the firmware, create a folder called “update” in the “PSP” folder on your SD card. Then, copy the eboot file you downloaded into the “update” folder. Make sure the eboot file is named in all uppercase letters.
Insert the SD card into your PSP and turn it on. Your PSP should recognize the SD card and begin reading it. Once you’ve booted up your PSP, go to “Game” and select “Memory Stick.” You should see the official firmware file you downloaded.
If you want to update from 6.60 to 6.61, download the 6.61 eboot file. If you want to update from a lower firmware, download the 6.60 eboot file. You can skip 6.60 and go straight to 6.61 if you prefer.
That’s it! With these simple steps, you can update your PSP to the latest official firmware without the internet. Keep in mind that you should never remove a drive or USB without ejecting it first to avoid corrupted files.
