Have you ever struggled with writing on a circle in Adobe Illustrator? It can be tricky to get your text to appear right-side-up and in the correct location. But fear not, because there is an easy solution!
First, create a circle using the circle tool and holding down the shift key. You can adjust the size and placement of the circle by holding down the spacebar and then releasing it when you’re done.
Next, select the type tool and then click on the circle to activate the type on a path tool. Type whatever you want on the circle, and then use the bars on the circle to adjust the placement of your text.
To flip the text, use the start bar on the circle. Click and drag the bar inward so that it’s not on the same line as the other bars. This will flip your text upside down, and you can then adjust its placement as needed.
It’s worth noting that the little square on the bars indicates that there’s another circle, which can be helpful if you have overflow text. But for this simple technique, you won’t need it.
And there you have it! A quick and easy way to type inside a circle in Illustrator. If you found this helpful, feel free to follow me on Instagram at Rabia Design for more tips and tutorials.
