If you have a Samsung Smart TV and want to connect it to your phone, there are a couple of ways to do so. In this post, we’re going to walk you through how to use the Samsung-developed SmartThings app to send your media files to your TV and how to completely screen mirror your phone to your TV.
First, make sure your TV is connected to the Wi-Fi network you’re using on your phone. Go to Menu, then Network, and Network Settings to get started. Once you’re connected, go to the Google Play Store and search for the SmartThings app. Install and open the app.
With the SmartThings app open, select the plus icon and add a device. Choose TV, then Samsung, and select your TV. Make sure both your phone and TV are connected to the internet. Follow the prompts to set up the location and connect to your TV.
Once your TV is connected to your phone, you can use the media button in the SmartThings app to send pictures, videos, and music to your TV. You can also use the app to control other Samsung devices in your home.
If you want to completely screen mirror your phone to your TV, you can use the Smart View app that’s already installed on your phone by default. Scroll down from the top of your phone, go to the next page, and select Smart View. Make sure both devices are connected to the Wi-Fi network and follow the prompts to connect.
Note that this method may not work for TVs made before 2016, but if you have a newer TV, it should be compatible. If your TV is too old, you can also use an Amazon Fire Stick or Google Chromecast to screen mirror your phone to your TV.
