Are you tired of spending a fortune on waterproof camera covers? Look no further than this easy, simple, and cheap solution. In this tutorial, I will show you how to create your own waterproof camera cover for less than a dollar.
To start, you will need one pair of scissors and a one-gallon ziplock bag that can cover your entire camera. Optionally, you can also use a sharpie pen and some electrical tape. However, these materials are not necessary.
Begin by placing the ziplock bag over your camera body and pulling it tight. If you want to be extra careful, you can trace a line around your lens with a sharpie and cut out the hole with scissors. It’s best to make the hole slightly smaller than necessary because the plastic will stretch.
If you want to be fancy, you can use electrical tape to reinforce the hole’s edges. However, this is optional. Cut some electrical tape and place it around the hole’s edge to keep the plastic from stretching and ripping.
After you’ve applied the electrical tape, place the bag over the camera again and pull it over the hole. To prevent water from entering the hole in the middle, twist your lens cap onto the end of the bag and onto your camera. The cap will create a seal that will keep the bag from moving.
If you want more protection for your camera, you can remove the strap and zip the bag tightly. This one-gallon bag is large enough to hold a Sony a7 3 with a Sigma 35 Art lens or a Lumix S5. It can also fit a Canon Mark III or Mark IV.
Overall, this waterproof camera cover is a cheap and easy solution for keeping your camera dry in wet weather conditions. Give it a try and let me know what you think! Remember to hit the like button and leave a comment if you found this tutorial helpful.
