Skype is one of the best video calling platforms available today. And if you’re an Amazon Echo Show user, you can easily make Skype calls using your device. In this article, we’ll show you how to set up and use Skype on your Echo Show.
Setting up Skype on Echo Show is easy. Just follow these simple steps:
1. Enable the Skill
To enable the Skill, open the Echo app and click on “My Free Lines” on the top left-hand corner. Then press “Settings” followed by “Communications.” Click on Skype and sign into your Microsoft account. Accept the permissions and finally save.
2. Make a Call
To call someone, just ask your Echo to call someone on Skype. For example, you can say, “Echo, call John on Skype.” If someone calls you, you just have to say a wake word followed by “Answer,” or you can accept the call on screen.
When making a video call, make sure you have an Echo Show device. You can use any Echo Show device for video calls, such as the Echo Show 8. If you’re using a regular Echo device, you can hear the person but won’t be able to see them.
In the example shown in the video, the user calls himself using someone else’s account for demo purposes. You can call anyone who has a Skype account, whether they’re on a smartphone, a tablet, or a computer.
