How to Ungroup Emails in Gmail

Are you frustrated with your Gmail inbox being cluttered with bunched-together or grouped conversations? Would you like to see each email separately? If so, you’re in luck – ungrouping your emails in Gmail is easy to do. All you need to do is change a setting called Conversation View within the Gmail settings.

To begin with, you’ll need to open your Gmail account. Once you’re in, look for the gear or sprocket icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen. Click on it, and select “Settings” from the dropdown menu.

There are two methods to ungroup your emails in Gmail. The first method is found in the Quick Settings. Scroll down to the bottom of the Quick Settings page, and you’ll see an option for “Email Threading.” Select “Conversation View,” and turn it off.

Alternatively, you can access the main settings in Gmail. Click on “See all settings” at the top of the Quick Settings page, and this will take you to the main settings. Select the “General” tab and scroll down to the “Conversation View” option. Turn off Conversation View and hit “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.

Once you’ve made the changes, Gmail will refresh, and you’ll see your emails separated into individual emails rather than grouped conversations. Congratulations – you’ve successfully ungrouped your emails in Gmail!
